We all want to leave our mark–to somehow make a difference and put our stamp on the world. However, the scriptures remind us that God has first marked us, and that as followers of Jesus, our primary task is not to leave marks that reflect our own personal accomplishments, but to make manifest the glory of God in the world.

ALL THINGS ARE BEING MADE NEW. This is the claim of Jesus when he says "the Kingdom of God is near." It is not an end, but a new beginning. For us, this message is not driven by fear of doom, but by the hope of restoration--the constant assertion that our God is putting all of the broken things back together again.

A lot of time, when we talk about forgiveness, we only talk about forgiving others. If we really want to do that, however, we must understand all three dimensions of forgiveness–up, in and out. In other words, God’s forgiveness, forgiving ourselves, and forgiving others. It’s work – hard work to live into forgiveness. But through grace, by grace and in grace we can cultivate habits and practices that can make forgiveness possible in all dimensions.
